So what's a strategy session?
A strategy session is a highly focused meeting in which we come up with a specific strategy or approach to achieve a particular goal.
In our time together, we can do a lot, including devise a transition strategy for you to leave your job and join the ranks of entrepreneurs, review your web site, get an outside (meaning mine) opinion on an advertising campaign or other work done for you by another vendor, go over/update your marketing plan, brainstorm new products and services, check your current plans for neglected opportunities, prep you for a speech or presentation, polish your proposal to a potential client, and much more. (Of course, I don't mean we could actually accomplish all those things in a single meeting, but those are issues that I have addressed with clients in past strategy sessions.)
How we spend the time is entirely up to you. I will most likely assign some preparatory work before our meeting so that you get the most out of our time together.
How does it work?
First, you fill out the confidential form [see below], which lets me know that you're ready for your meeting. I call and/or email you back as soon as I can [or my assistant does, if I am out of the office], which is usually within two business days. We set up the time to meet, and then you receive a confirmation email with suggestions for your preparation. Why do YOU need to be prepared? Because you want to get the most from your meeting, and advance preparation is the best way to insure that you get all the value that can be packed into your meeting.
What kind of preparation are we talking about?
The single most important thing you can know is what you want to acheive in our time together. Besides that, it is usually helpful to have some historical information about what's worked, and what hasn't, for your business, as well as any special challenges you have. What's funny about this preparation is that often my clients say that just getting ready for our strategy session was worth the effort and the fee! Of course, they're pretty darn thrilled about the results of our meeting as well, and the most common feedback I get is that if only they had known how much it would help, they would have set up a meeting much sooner.
Can this meeting be recorded?
