Virtual Networking Space for Portland Metro Businesswomen Launches on November 2
(Portland, Oregon) -- Angie, a food editor, wonders who makes the best commercial olive bread in town. Jean, a hairdresser, wants to find an accountant who understands her particular bookkeeping needs. Prudence, a private consultant, is looking for someone to redesign her kitchen.
What do these women have in common? They are all seeking answers, and they don't know who to ask. But help is on the way.
The NW Women's Virtual Business Network (NWWomensBizNetwork) is a virtual networking space for women who take their professional lives seriously. It's an easy, positive, and friendly way to connect with other women in business, at a woman's own convenience and in a private forum. There is no need to dress up, load the pockets with business cards, or brace for meeting a bunch of strangers while trying to remember a clever self-introduction.
The purpose of the NWWomensBizNetwork is to connect and network with other women in a safe and friendly business environment. It is the place where members can share information and ideas, sell their own products and services, or find the products and services they are looking for. This is THE space is for networking on as grand or as modest a scale as a woman could wish.
The NWWomensBizNetwork is a private, invitation-only, moderated list-serv, so members will never receive unwanted emails as a result of participation. Members may ask questions, share resources, request feedback, offer products or services, announce milestones, invite others to events, or engage in any other appropriate business communication. Jokes, petitions, and other material deemed inappropriate for this professional forum will not be approved.
Created by Vancouver marketing coach Veronika Noize, the NWWomensBizNetwork is supported by a consortium of women leaders who meet quarterly to share information about the resources that serve women business owners. Organizations include SBA, WEO, WEO WA, PDC, NAWBO, and ASTRA, among other women's networking groups. The NWWomensBizNetwork is open to members in good standing of all approved women's organizations. Membership in the group requires signing up through the interested party's networking organization. There is no charge for participation in this group.
The NW Women's Virtual Business Network is now in its pilot stage, and area-wide roll-out is scheduled for November 2, 2004. Our goal is to connect 20,000 women by the end of 2005.
